At Jay Moody HVAC, we pride ourselves on providing engineer-designed HVAC systems tailored to each unique space. For years, we’ve been hesitant to offer rough pricing over the phone, believing that a clear understanding of a home’s layout, solution type, window positioning and other details is essential to delivering the most accurate, reliable design options and pricing.

So, what’s changed?

We’ve listened to the feedback from homeowners who want a starting point to better understand the potential scope of their HVAC project before investing more time in discussing design options.

While our belief in the importance of in-home consultations with qualified contractors remains unchanged, we’ve worked with a trusted partner for months to offer a solution that addresses this need without compromising our commitment to quality.

Introducing Jay Moody HVAC’s online estimate tool!

A Starting Point, Not the Final Solution

We believe online estimate tools should be used as resources, not all-encompassing quotes. The software Jay Moody HVAC utilizes uses available home address information, paired with our pricing and available energy incentive data, to create estimated system designs and rough price outlines. This tool provides a high-level estimate of the potential system options, pricing and available energy incentives for heat pump projects.

However, it’s important to note that the tool has limitations. While it can offer a basic understanding of your home’s needs, it does not account for more intricate aspects such as:

  • Improper duct sizing
  • The option to install new or extend existing ductwork
  • Customizations related to home aesthetics
  • Potential electrical service upgrades
  • Inconsistencies in home insulations, window types and/or home layout (especially common in homes built pre-1900s)

We recommend using the online estimate as a starting point. It’s ideal for homeowners in the early stages of planning who want to explore approximate pricing and available energy incentives. But it’s not a replacement for the detailed, tailored consultation that Jay Moody HVAC is known for.

The Value of an In-Home Consultation

Once you’ve explored the online estimate, the next step is to meet with one of our degreed engineers at your home. This in-person consultation allows us to work side-by-side with you to better understand your comfort preferences, energy efficiency goals, aesthetic considerations and more. Our engineer(s) will thoroughly assess your home’s layout, including the specifics that the online tool can’t capture. They will also conduct a separate Manual J Calculation while in your home (as well as Manual D Calculations when ductwork is involved).

It’s this face-to-face experience that enables us to deliver a truly customized home comfort solution, designed with the highest quality materials and craftsmanship in mind.
