2. Integration Limitations
SPAN panels offer seamless integration with many battery power backups, which is a valuable feature to ensure continuous power during outages.
However, in Massachusetts, various town fire codes limit the use of backup batteries, making this feature unusable for many residents. These restrictions can make it challenging for homeowners to fully utilize all the benefits SPAN has to offer.

The SPAN panel is designed for convenience rather than distribution. It prioritizes load shedding for circuits that can be switched on and off momentarily without inconveniencing the homeowner.
